
The Swiss Society for Allergology and Immunology (SSAI) was founded in 1950. It is an Association pursuant to Article 60 ff. of the Swiss Civil Code.
The Society is also a specialist commission under the terms of regional medical associations. It represents disciplinary matters to the Swiss Medical Association (FMH) whose statutes are recognized by those who bear the title of Specialist within the Society (pursuant to Article 8, ยง 1 of the Statutes).
The Society is also a representative to the Federal Social Insurance Office (FSIO), the Federal Office for Public Health (FOPH) and other institutions that regulate medical practice, the Swiss Academy of Sciences and various professional associations.
The registered office of the Society is the site of the main secretariat, currently in Berne.
